Form 1 News

13th September 24

The Form 1 girls have made a fantastic start to their year! There have been so many new routines to learn requiring them to become more independent and brave! They have worked hard, with a big smile and great enthusiasm! Well done girls!  Many of the girls have chosen to have a lesson with one of our visiting music specialists.  Those who are signed up have all now experienced their first lesson and appear to be thoroughly enjoying it!

Today we had our first spelling test which was very exciting.  The girls learned how to set the date and numbers out on the page and then did an incredible job showing us how much effort they had put in at home, learning the spellings from last week.  The girls have also worked hard keeping up with their reading each day at school and at home.  This benefits them so much and will enable them to thrive throughout the year.

From Monday the girls will be making their own way to the classroom at drop off in the morning.  They are very excited about this and they feel very grown up!  The girls are also allowed to collect their own lunch in Form 1 from the hatch.  They have been brilliant carrying their tray to the tables and they are working hard to use their manners when talking to the kitchen staff.

Please encourage your daughter to dress and undress independently into and out of their uniform.  This really speeds up the changing process for PE sessions.  Special practice is needed for buttons and shirts and getting the navy pinafore dress on and off please!

We are looking forward to a fun packed year of learning with the girls and we will keep you updated throughout the year with photos and news here on the website as well as through our daily and weekly methods of communication.
