Fairy Tale Day in Form One

12th November 24

Form One enjoyed a Fairy Tale Day this week, bringing traditional tales to life.

We started the morning off by introducing ourselves and telling our friends who we were dressed up as. We then learnt a little more about Fairy Tales, including themes which they normally include, how the stories start, story settings and how they usually end. We thought of our own fairy tale involving all of our own characters and Mrs Bishop typed it up for us. We then acted the story out, using some super acting skills and expression. We can’t wait to illustrate the story and put it in our book box!

We then went on a Fairy Tale scavenger hunt, looking for twelve Fairy Tale characters. We had to solve an addition or subtraction problem at every clue and bring them back to the classroom. We then had to add them all together. If the total was 50 exactly, we won a gold chocolate coin from the Giant. Luckily, it came to fifty and we enjoyed a delicious chocolate reward!

Afterwards, we decided to make our own version of Fairy Tale Top Trumps, using ourselves as the characters. We loved playing the game against Miss Smith and Mrs Bishop and even won the game. Hooray!

In Computing, we enjoyed playing Fairy Tale games uisng the Ipads.

Madama Lawrenson even managed to find some French Fairy Tales for us to read in our French lesson. We enjoyed Boucle D’or et les Trois Ours!

Finally, it was time for Cinderella yoga, before home time. Phew! A busy, fun-filled Fairy Tale Day!
