23rd March 25
On Tuesday afternoon the House Netball took centre stage on the court. Form VI and Form V combined to play together in two teams from each House. As always the girls played their best, with some great communication and support play from Warwick, superb passing from Lanc, and ultimately the winners, York, managing to put the most goals in the net! Well done to all who took part and to York for winning this year’s House Netball.
On Thursday some of our Form IV girls travelled to Abbot’s Hill to play in their U9 ISA netball tournament. The format of the tournament was 5 aside, rotating positions, with 7 matches in the morning back to back. Our girls did a fantastic job in the morning, winning all the games bar one against the other teams. Lots of goals were scored, and the team worked hard for each other, showing competitive play and quick passing. In the afternoon we played against the schools ranked 1-4, and were very unlucky to lose the last game 3-4, which meant we finished 4th overall. The tournament was a valuable experience for us and showed us how small margins can make the difference of a place overall. Well done girls on a sterling effort and great teamwork.
On Friday we competed in the U11 ISA Mixed Hockey Tournament at Old Loughtonians Hockey Club in Chigwell. We took a squad of 8 girls – six from Form VI and two from Form V to play against other London North ISA schools. Despite having never played together as a team, our girls soon ‘clicked’ as a side, showing great teamwork, skill and hard work in support of each other. A huge congratulations to our goalie, Chloe, who had never been in goal before. Chloe took the role like a duck to water, saving many shots and showing courage and confidence when keeping the attackers at bay. We came 3rd in the qualifying round, which meant we went on to compete in the Plate. After beating Trevor Roberts B team, we played Immanuel in the Final. It was a tight match, but we showed strong defence and took our chances when they came. We won 3-1 and were delighted to be winners of the Plate! A great achievement – well played everyone!
