Form I prides itself on offering many new learning opportunities and subjects in a fun and stimulating environment. With two part-time, highly experienced class teachers and a teaching assistant, the girls learn to work hard and play hard!
Form I open their doors at 8.20am and registration is at 8.45am. The school day ends at 3.15pm. The girls are provided with a drink and a snack in both the morning and the afternoon and attend the first lunch sitting (12.00pm – 1.00pm). Wraparound care is available from 7:30am each morning and after school until 6pm.
The majority of the curriculum is delivered by the class teacher and includes English, Maths, Science, Art and Design, R.E., PSHCE, Geography and History. We are lucky to have specialist teachers delivering Music, P.E., French, Computing and Drama, who primarily teach in the afternoons.
Form I girls are permitted to wear a watch to school and bring their own pencil case.
Homework includes reading and spelling. At this stage, individual music tuition is available on the piano, violin and cello.
Form I pupils may join the Junior choir which rehearses once a week during a break time. Other extra curricular activities include gymnastics, tennis and dance.
We aim to inspire a love of learning and a strong self belief in our individual abilities enabling the children to continue to thrive with confidence throughout their St Hilda’s journey.
